Hospitality couple
Assistant manager and Kitchen porter roles
You will have the opportunity to live on the beautiful island of St Martin’s (we are slightly biased!) with its glorious sandy beaches in every direction. We are the only pub on the island, open from Easter until Halloween. There is always lots of other lovely seasonal workers to make friends with and enjoy days off exploring the islands together. These roles are ideally for a couple, but friends willing to share accommodation will be considered too for the right applicants.
The ideal couple
• Must have experience working in hospitality and the service industry
• Excel when working as part of a team
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Adaptable, motivational personality with a can-do attitude
• Self-motivated with high standard of personal organisation
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety protocols and a high standard of cleanliness
• Customer service focused with strong interpersonal skills
• Can legally work in the UK and have a UK bank account
• Good general level of fitness & personal hygiene
Assistant manager role
• Assist in managing the front of house team to ensure exceptional service delivery.
• To step in the role of manager when the current FOH manager is absent.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service, while upholding an enjoyable work environment.
• Train and mentor new team members in hospitality best practices and operational procedures.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints and take bookings with professionalism and courtesy.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area.
• Assist in scheduling staff shifts and placing inventory orders when required.
• Have a personal license, or be willing to acquire one.
• Support the Front of House Manager in implementing new initiatives to enhance guest experience.
Kitchen Porter role
• Unloading deliveries.
• Organising the storeroom.
• Collecting and washing pots, pans, plates and cutlery.
• Getting pots, pans plates and cutlery back into use quickly.
• Washing and disinfecting kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls.
• Making sure kitchen equipment is properly stored.
• Removing and recycling waste from the kitchen.
• Work closely with chefs & management to maintain the highest level of EHO standards.
